Hello, From Bend

Last July we moved to Bend, and my heart can’t stop smiling about it!

We visited Bend for the first time 6years ago when I was doing a halfpipe training camp just before the Olympics. It was June, snow on the mountains and glorious sunshine in town. We skied, we rode bikes, we floated the river, we brunched, we enjoyed all the festivities that Bend has to offer! After that visit we knew that someday it’d be our dream to settle in Bend. I can’t believe we now get to call this place home.

And here’s why...

The beauty of this place constantly amazes me! Yes, the outdoors is bursting with adventure and aesthetically pleasing to the eye’s content, and oh yeah, there are endless social/cultural events to keep your soul satisfied every month of the year, and like most other mountain towns I’ve been blessed to live in or visit the vibe is always in constant flux of joy and anticipation for each new season, but what makes this mountain town extra special is its people (and their pups!) Side note: Bend is a dog loving town! Woop Woop! Woof woof!

Anyway, as a newcomer I’ve experienced such a welcoming atmosphere where people are mindful to be kind to all, visitors, and locals alike. I’m in constant awe of how people go out of their way to share love and joy. There are countless stories I could share but this one stands out: halfway up a steep hike a couple of girls stop me and ask to pat my dog Jaxi, after some puppy snuggles they noticed that I was carrying my doggoes poop bag and to my surprise, offered to carry it down the mountain for me,  so that I didn’t have to carry it all the way to the summit and back!

What?! Kindness knows no boundaries here!

We are nine months into our Bend adventure and are not surprised to see how beautiful it is here in the springtime. We can’t wait to get out and explore all that Bend has to offer and so look forward to establishing ourselves within this amazing community!
